My name is Lisa, and I am a registered Nurse turned stay at home mama of 4 wonderful children~ Gunner, 12; Isabella "Bella," 5; and Mason, 3, and our newest~ Our Coda, just 2 months old. Her VBA2C birthstory is HERE!
We first learned bout Babywearing with my third child, who has allergic colitis/reflux and HAD to be carried, all the time. For the first 2 months of his life, no one in our household knew peace or quiet, unless of course, the baby was in my arms, cuddled tightly next to my heart. This presented another issue though, I still had to chase my toddler around and care for my oldest child too, and still maintain our daily routines.
So, we set off to find a carrier that would hold him close and snug, but keep my hands free to do our activities of daily living. We started off the store brands, and while they were okay for my first two children, it didn't give my youngest the closeness and swaddling effect he so much needed, and they weren't very kind on my back.
Next we discovered the unpadded ring sling and traditional Mei Tai carriers. They were really comfy, and suited our needs much better than the store brands, but I wanted something a little more fashionable and tailor made to my needs exactly. I set out to make my own, and in the process Sachi Carriers came to be.
